Dear Students and Parents,
I miss seeing all of my students and hope each of you are doing well! I know this is an extremely difficult time and I am thinking of you, your families and our entire country so much right now. Please know how important you are to me and that I am here for you. Our schools and state leadership have made the difficult, but brave decision to close our schools which means that counseling services will not be available in person. However, we are still working daily to make every effort to continue to support our students, families and greater communities and will provide counseling services via Zoom. Students that were receiving counseling services will be contacted by email to schedule Zoom check-ins. During this uncertain time, I will also be available via email at dsmith@madisonhighlandprepaz.org. Please do not hesitate to reach out with anything that may be on your mind. Uncertainty seems to be the common thread that unites us all right now. Anxiety is a natural response to this uncertainty. If you find that you are struggling with increased anxiety, please know that you are not alone and these feelings are both natural and normal. Here is a great online support for working through this increased anxiety. https://www.virusanxiety.com/
Please make sure you are talking about your feelings and fears. I am here for you! We are ALL in this together!
Sincerely,
Ms. Lilliana Garcia
School Counselor
