Good morning Honey Badgers! Today is Monday, April 19th, 2021.
Attention Students: AZ Merit 2 State Assessments will be administered to all 10th Grade students Today April 19th. All 10th Grade students should report to the school no later than 7:45 a.m. Students should bring a face covering and water bottle on testing days. All 9th Grade, 11th Grade and 12th Grade students will be provided remote assignments for learning from home on these testing dates.
11th Grade students will be taking the AZ Science Exam on Thursday, April 22nd. All 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students will be provide remote assignments for asynchronous learning from home (these grades will not be on campus).
Track and Field had another impressive showing this weekend. Boys took first place again, edging out Madison Highland Prep and BASIS Scottsdale for the top spot in the Under the Lights invitational. With only a couple of state qualifying events left, they have proven once again they are the team to beat. The girls team improved on their last performance and took 4th overall lead by standout performances from Savannah Villasenor and Teresa Williams. There were a series of Personal Records set by both boys and girls team. They look forward to the next meet this weekend.
Baseball takes on Thunderbird Adventist at home. First pitch is at 5:00pm
ECAP’s are just around the corner, which means students need to bring their ECAP folders with them to school the next couple of weeks. Juniors will be having their ECAP meeting on Wednesday, 4.28.21 for in-person learners and Monday 5.3.21 for our distance learners. Deadlines are fast approaching to apply for summer programs and internships. The Summer Experience at ASU West is accepting applications from 9th -11th graders until April 30th. The Summer Health Institute at ASU is accepting applications from graduating seniors until May 31st.
Special Opportunity: AZYouthforce has extended their deadline to April 16th for most internships and to April 30th for their Future Engineers Program. Attention Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors. ASU West offers a summer program where students attend learning communities taught by ASU faculty in Neuroscience, Psychology, Law and Forensics, Physics, Cognition and Leadership, and Nutrition and Health. Students will participate in research, make presentations, attend seminars, and join panel discussions led by current ASU students. The Summer Experience at West program will be held from June 7, 2021 through June 10, 2021. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2021.
